DSC_1265Destination weddings, in exotic locales, have become increasingly popular in recent years. Many couples are discovering they are more affordable and involve fewer hassles than traditional weddings.

Destination weddings tend to be smaller and more intimate. The average number of guests for a destination wedding is 47, compared to 165 for a traditional wedding. Most couples spend less than $10,000 on a destination wedding, a significant savings compared to a wedding at home. Plus, you get a wedding and honeymoon in one!

Popular destinations include Mexico, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and Cuba. Las Vegas, known for its quickie weddings, also offers beautiful high-end ceremonies. Cruise weddings are also emerging as a new trend. Choose from simple or extravagant ceremonies, and enjoy both traditional and adventurous activities for wedding party members and their guests. You can choose between a tasteful shipboard chapel, or get married in a variety of locations in exotic ports.

Another unique idea—a Disney wedding. Whether a grand affair or an intimate ceremony, Disney can create a magical wedding. Arrive at your ceremony in Cinderella’s coach itself. Exchange your vows in front of Cinderella Castle or at an international Epcot destination. Experience firsthand the Disney difference.

You can also have a fabulous destination wedding in Europe. Historic and romantic, Europe’s many cities and villages offer unique and unforgettable settings for destination weddings. Imagine exchanging your vows at a castle in Ireland, at an Italian villa perched above the cliffs in the Amalfi Coast, or alongside the azure blue waters of Greece.

But be forewarned… destination weddings should ideally be planned at least a year in advance. They also require a high level of attention and detail. As a Certified Honeymoon and Destination Wedding Specialist, I only take a limited number of groups each year so that I can offer the highest possible level of service to my brides and grooms.

All of my brides and grooms receive a complimentary consultation with me to discuss your wedding needs. After this consultation, if you choose to work with me on your dream wedding I require a $200+ hst planning fee. This fee is non-refundable but will be applied to your booking at time of deposit.
